Winter Market Day 2025

Winter! It certainly was winter weather – icy cold, in fact. Just what you might expect for a winter market.

Stall-holders were wrapped in blankets and rugs, volunteers were seen in ski parkas, coats and other thick garments, while many market-goers wore winter woolies, beanies and hats – all to keep the cold out.

However it did not pour, there were even patches of sunlight, so plenty of people ventured out to enjoy the morning. Thanks to these brave souls, the market was still a success, even if numbers were down somewhat.

Thanks to Churchill Fire Brigade and Churchill Lions for cooking plenty of sausages for us all! These sausage sizzles were sponsored by Churchill & District News and Churchill Woolworths.

Our major sponsor, Marinus Link, paid for our free entertainers (balloon animals from Fairy Merrin and face painting by Luna Sunbloom).

Sponsorship also enabled us to hand out lots of free vouchers to randomly selected shoppers to spend in Churchill retail stores. We hope our winners enjoy a bit more shopping in Churchill!

Community market events at Churchill shopping centre (Churchill Shop Local) is a joint program conducted by Churchill & District Community Association, Churchill Neighbourhood Centre and Churchill & District News.
