Matchbox Gallery Fundraiser for Yinnar Primary School

Pip of Matchbox Gallery gave the children of Yinnar Primary a lesson in portraiture.

This was followed up by teacher Charlie Towmey. The children produced amazing portraits which were displayed in the Gallery. Over 400 people of all ages came to view the exhibition and they were astounded at the standard produced. Marie of the Gallery enthusiastically reported that there was a lot of joy in the room as people viewed the work, as people took in the works. The students were very excited to see the response.

An older art group, Sculpture and Creations, was able to see the portraits and they were amazed at the standard and talents of the artists. Every one of the portraits exhibited an emotional expression more advanced than for the usual age group. There was a multicultural aspect to the pictures too.

The following people or organisations donated prizes to the winners: Morwell Art and Framing, John Brown, Tricia Dennis, Dallas Reilly, Nick Hooper and Robyn Mauger.

A raffle was held and the winner notified.

The raffle money raised through this exhibition is going to be used by the school for sports equipment. The school says thank you.
