Churchill Scouts - March 2024
Top awards for Churchill Scouts
Two Churchill Scout Group members were recently awarded their peak achievement awards. Harrison (8) was presented with the peak achievement for Joey Scouts, the Promise Award, and Jackson (11) was presented with the Cub Scout peak achievement, the Grey Wolf Award. Both Harrison and Jackson worked diligently over the past three years completing a series of challenges to achieve these awards. From camping, bushcraft and bushwalking skills as well as STEM, creative arts, environmental, adventurous activities, service projects and an adventurous journey, Harrison and Jackson just about did it all!. Congratulations to them both.
Churchill Scouts host district event
Churchill Scout Group recently hosted the annual Strzelecki District Scouts Founder’s Day activity day at their Scout Hall and grounds. Founder’s Day celebrates the birth of the founder of Scouting, Lord Baden-Powell, who would have turned 167 this year.
Scouts from Churchill, Glengarry, Morwell and Traralgon enjoyed bouldering, billycarts, campfire cooking, an obstacle course, and an imaginative bushcraft game, not to mention a sausage sizzle and a giant birthday cake! A big thank you to all of the volunteer leaders who helped run activities on the day.
